TUNISIA / 3rd edition of the “Assises des Ciné-clubs”

On March 1st and 2nd the Tunisian Federation of Cinema Clubs (FTCC) held its 3rd conference, the Assises des Ciné-Clubs. Organized with the support of the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image and in collaboration with the Direction Générale de l’Action Culturelle, the theme of these meetings was “Reinventing Cinema Clubs in the 21st century”.

According to the press release, these two days were an opportunity for members, professionals and all participants to come together to reflect on “recent developments and trends in the film world.” The conference also provided an opportunity to discuss “how to revitalize and update film clubs to be better prepared for the expectations and demands of the contemporary era.”

Several topics were discussed, such as the impact of new technology on film projection, innovative marketing and promotion strategies and the question of audience commitment.

Founded in 1949 in Tunis, the FTCC is a network of 30 film clubs spreading film and cinema culture and developing love of film. It organizes several screenings and discussions about international films and also offers training courses and image education workshops.
