Following the success of its youth screenings, Saber Bouzid, head of the Batna Cinematheque, announced the creation of a film club for children aged 8 to14.
After each screening, interactive workshops and discussion groups will be organised to encourage young people to “offer criticism and express their opinions.” Bouzid explains that professionals will be on hand to introduce them to “the basics of film language”.
The Batna Cinematheque (formerly the Aurès Cinematheque) was formed in the 1960’s. It reopened in 2015 after restoration work and also hosts a film club for adults.
