On April 21st in a suburb of Algiers the TMV multiplex was inaugurated in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, Sid Ali Sebaa.
During the ceremony, Ait Aoudia, founder of the TMV Cinema group, said: “We are honoured by the presence of the Minister’s representative to celebrate this historic moment. The inauguration of this multiplex symbolizes and demonstrates our commitment to modern and accessible cinemas, meeting the expectations of an increasingly demanding audience.”
Open since August last year in the heart of Chéraga’s Garden City Shopping Centre, the multiplex now has a cinema for young audiences plus four cinemas ranging from 20 to 240 seats. In all it represents an investment of 350 million dinars (€2.43 million).
For Mira Bouacha, TMV’s operations director, “this culture and leisure space is the result of an ambitious vision for cinemas across Algeria. It not only offers cutting-edge technology, but also an opportunity for young people to discover the magic of cinema in the best conditions.”
As well as operating cinemas, TMV Cinémas wants to expand into producing Algerian films.
