The finalists for the 17th TRT International Documentary Awards have been officially announced. The event will take place with public screenings from June 4th to 7th. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on June 7th.
Organised by TRT, these awards support amateur and professional documentary film-makers, contribute to the development and distribution of documentary films and introduce audiences to documentaries from different countries.
Driven by the belief that every documentary which sheds light on suffering and on the world’s most powerful stories will leave a lasting impact on the future, this year’s event, themed “Be Bold, Leave a Mark,” will showcase films about people, nature, life and history from various regions and cultures around the globe.
Having received 1,409 applications from 109 countries, the 17th TRT International Documentary Awards will feature 40 selected finalists. They will be divided into four categories: International, National Professionals, National Student Films and Project Support.
