TUNISIA / The FTCC launches Caméras Camarades, a project aimed at youth

The Fédération Tunisienne des Ciné-Clubs (FTCC), in partnership with the Magroumine Association, has launched an appeal for projects aimed at young Tunisians aged 15 to 29, calling it Caméras Camarades.

The aim is to improve access to film culture and promote expression, creativity and civic participation among younger people. The initiative offers a ten-day hands-on learning experience in documentary film-making, divided into three phases: training, filming and post-production.

Young people aged 15 to 29 from the regions of Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Siliana, Gafsa, Gabès, Zaghouan and Jendouba had until March 20th 2026 to apply. The programme will run through the summer until September.

Caméras Camarades is set against a backdrop of social and economic challenges faced by young Tunisians, particularly in the country’s interior, where unemployment, marginalisation, the lack of opportunities and limited access to places for cultural creation and practice are acute.

In addition to this initiative, travelling film screenings will be organised in the regions involved. The project also includes the creation of local film clubs to ensure the continuity of film-making activities and strengthen cultural dynamism at the regional level.
