The 10th Industry Days, part of the Malmo Arab Film Festival, will be held from April 23rd to 26th.

14 projects from 14 countries have been selected from the 36 applications received. The selected projects will compete in three categories: short films in development, feature-length dramas in development and films in post-production. The Industry Days’ grant programme supports outstanding film projects while fostering collaboration between Sweden and Arab countries through seminars, workshops and round table discussions.

There are five projects in the feature-length fiction film category, including Salah Issad’s Dogmas (Algeria, France, Sweden), Leila Basma’s Running with the Beasts (Lebanon, Czech Republic and Sweden) and Tkallem by Nejib Kthiri (Tunisia, United Kingdom, Sweden). Three awards worth $5,000 (€4,600) will be given by the event’s partner institutions, which include Jordan’s Royal Film Commission.

In the shorts category three projects have been selected: Elsewhere by Issraa El Kogali Häggström (Sweden), I See you in Full Colour by Mohammed Al-Majdalawi (Sweden, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt) and The Albatross by Mike Malajalian (Norway).

The list of selected projects is available on the event’s web-site.
