Director Cesc Gay announced that he finished shooting his new feature, Me Amiga Eva, on May 30th.
Co-written by Cesc Gay and Eduard Sola, the film is about 50-year-old Eva, married with two teenagers. During a business trip to Rome she realizes she wants to fall in love again before it’s too late. Back in Barcelona she begins a new single life.
The director explains the origin of his film thus: “It all started one evening when we discovered by chance that our friend, who is not called Eva, was frequenting rental apartments without telling anyone, particularly not her husband. That’s when this comedy began to take shape inside me: a comedy to be taken very seriously. It is full of misunderstandings, doubts, unexpected lies, absurd moments and ridiculous situations.”
The film is produced by Impossible Films and is supported by RTVE, Movistar Plus+ and 3Cat. Filmax is responsible for international sales and distribution in Spain.
