Between November 9th to 17th the Andalusian capital will become a centre for the 7th art as it hosts the 15th Seville European Film Festival, where people connected with European cinema can discuss every aspect of films and film-making. In addition to the films shown in the official selection, there are sections on “new wave” films, special sessions, the European Film Awards and the “Permanent Revolution” category.

The festivities will begin with the screening of Non-fiction, the latest film by French director Olivier Assayas, which is competing in the official selection.

At the 2017 edition, Portugal’s Pedro Pinho won the prestigious award for A fabrica de nada, while Valeska Grisebach was awarded the grand jury prize for Western.

From November 13th to 15th there will be meetings for professionals, known as IndustriaSEFF, with discussions about film development, production and in particular distribution. More than 400 directors and professionals from the audiovisual sector will be there to animate and take part in discussions, symposia and meetings throughout the city.
