On April 15th the Spanish Festival de Cine por Mujeres (festival of films made by women) officially launched its new project, RAMPA, an interactive, open and free directory filled with information, contacts and the geographic locations of women working in every area of the audiovisual industry.
RAMPA is a response to various remarks that there are no women working in this or that sector of the film business. The Festival de Cine por Mujeres wanted to prove the opposite, and that is now done: in one week more than 500 women registered on the RAMPA platform. Information was widely disseminated in the media and social media. The project was supported by well-known professionals, for example director Chus Gutiérrez, producer Puy Oria, writer/director Icíar Bollaín and scriptwriter Isa Campo.
The Festival has said this massive and positive response clearly shows that RAMPA is now the fundamental tool helping Spanish women specialize in their careers. Its organizers now plan to make the platform the go-to resource for including women in the job market.
RAMPA receives financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports.
For its part, the Festival, initially scheduled for April, has had to postpone its festivities until November 4th to 15th 2020.
