CROATIA / Report from the Animafest Zagreb

Scheduled to run from June 8th to 13th, Animafest Zagreb, the World Festival of Animated Film, has been postponed. With the Coronavirus crisis and the earthquake which hit Zagreb, the situation in Croatia has made the event impossible. Although the festival’s artistic director has said a new date will be chosen, it has not yet been announced.

To overcome the delay and to give the public an overview of the films already screened, the organizers have put Animafest Insights online.

A series of exclusive interviews is also available, with film-makers presenting their films. The first film is Hedgehog’s Home by Croatian film-maker Eva Cvijanović. Based on a well-known story by Branko Ćopić, it received the Audience Award at the 2017 Animafest Zagreb.
