In a recent press announcement, the Slovenian Film Centre announced an increase in financial support. This year the state has allocated a budget of 12.35 million euros, compared to 8.58 million in 2024, representing a significant 44% increase.
Usually five or six Slovenian features are made every year, but this year there will be ten, including three first films. The Slovenian Film Centre has also announced that nine drama features (including four first films), ten feature-length documentaries and one animated feature co-production are expected to be released in cinemas in 2025 – a record number.
Among the documentaries scheduled for cinema release are: Alpe-Adria Underground! by Matevž Jerman and Jurij Meden, The Silence of Life by Nina Blažin and Ema Kugler’s Once Upon a Time in Soča Valley.
