Tangaj Production

Romanian actress Maria Popistașu and screenwriter Alexandru Baciu are in the final stages of post-production for their directorial debut, Y.

This feature-length drama follows Olga, her father and her two sisters, living in comfort thanks to the fortune made by their grandmother, Ileana, a former lawyer. Her sudden death disrupts the family’s well-being, especially for Olga, to whom Ileana confesses on her deathbed that the international adoption files she worked on after 1990 were inconsistent. Many secrets remain regarding the fate of some of the children.

With an estimated budget of €800,000, Y is co-produced by Tangaj Production (Romania) and View Master Films (Greece). It has received support from the Romanian Film Centre, the Greek Film Centre and Romanian television (TVR).

In 2022 the film project was presented at the Agora Crossroads and won a Jury Special Mention.
