The Marjane Group, owner of several shopping centres in Morocco, is partnering with the French film company Pathé to expand its offerings by combining retail outlets with entertainment and culture.
As Ayoub Azami, Chairman and CEO of Marjane Group, explains: “This partnership is part of our strategy to develop high-value-added services designed to enrich the customer experience within our commercial real estate offering. By combining Pathé’s expertise in operating cinema complexes with Marjane Group’s expertise in managing commercial assets, we are laying the foundations for an innovative network designed to meet the changing expectations of our audiences.” This project will also be a lever for growth at the intersection of commerce, leisure and culture, while contributing to the national ambition of structuring the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI).
According to Pathé Chairman Jérôme Saydoux, “This partnership will develop a network of cinemas in all the Kingdom’s major cities. We will build ultra-modern cinemas – or, more simply, the best available.”
In 2023 Pathé opened its first Moroccan multiplex in Casablanca, in the heart of the Californie Mall, owned by the Marjane Group.
