The Astra Film Festival is Romania’s oldest documentary film festival. This year the organisers decided to split the event in two. 40 films were screened in Sibiu from September 4th to 13th. The second part of the festival began on October 16th with 41 films available online until October 25th.
AFF Online will also host a programme for industry professionals, including a series of internet-based activities. The festival platform, however, will only be open to the Romanian public.
The organisers decided to stage this year’s festival in two parts for health reasons. In their press statement they stressed that “more than ever, the Astra Film Festival’s principal partner is the public.”
