The Centre Cinématographique Marocain (CCM) announced in a press release that several films are now available online. A list of 25 eclectic, multi-audience Moroccan films can be viewed free during this period of confinement. Each feature film will be online for 48 hours. The list includes :

Hayat by Raouf Sebbahi (2017), available on April 14th and 15th. The synopsis says “life is a journey with a point of departure and a point of arrival, with fellow travellers who sometimes become very close to us, and others who take different paths. A one-way ticket, with its own encounters and separations, its happiness and disappointments, its certainties and doubts…”

Les Chevaux de dieu by Nabil Ayouch (2012) available from April 24th to 25th. The film is about some of the suicide bombers who carried out a terrorist attack in Casablanca on May 16th 2003.

Nos lieux interdits by Leila Kilani (2008) will be online on May 2nd and 3rd. The director follows four families, some of whose members were imprisoned under Hassan II during the so-called “Years of Lead”(from the 1960’s to the 1980’s). 40 years later they are still trying to come to terms with a painful past.

According to its press release, the CCM wants to allow “the greatest number of people in Morocco and abroad to see again or discover, at their own convenience, the richness of our cinematographic heritage.
