As expected, the CSA (Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel) has re-elected Marie-Christine Saragosse as chair of France Médias Monde. She was the only candidate applying for her own job.
Appointed in 2012 as head of the group which includes France 24, RFI and Monte Carlo Doualiya, Mme. Saragosse now has a second term which takes effect on October 5th 2017.
In a statement the CSA, the French broadcasting media’s regulator, justified its decision: “since 2012 France Media World’s situation has significantly improved”, praising “Mme. Saragosse’s management capacity in steering and successfully integrating France 24, RFI and Monte Carlo Doualiya into a single company.”
As from this summer Marie-Christine Saragosse will have to supervise the amalgamation with CFI, the French media cooperation agency, which is to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of France Médias Monde. As stated in Parliament last December, CFI “will receive specific funding for missions in the field of broadcasting cooperation which are complementary to those of France Médias Monde.”
