The fourth Talents Beirut will be held in the Lebanese capital from September 21st to 25th 2017. It aims to support young Arab talent by giving them the chance to show their work and meet others working in the film business.
The candidate call is open from March 8th to May 8th 2017. Directors of photography, editors, composers and sound engineers from the Arab world are all invited to apply to take part.
In all 20 talented young people will be chosen by an international jury to participate in the project.
Since its creation, Talents Beirut has welcomed more than 40 artists from the Arab world who have met well-known film professionals such as Peter R. Adam (Good Bye Lenin!), composer and sound engineer Nicolas Becker (Batman Begins) and director Joshua Oppenheimer (The Look of Silence).
Talents Beirut was created by two organisations: Beirut’s Metropolis Art Cinema and the Goethe Institute (Lebanon), in collaboration with Berlinale Talents and Marseille’s Festival International du Documentaire. It also has the support of the Arabic Arts and Culture Fund and the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
