The Biennale College – Cinema is a laboratory for young film-makers created six years ago by the Biennale di Venezia. Now it has just created a sub-section for young Italian film-makers, with the same aim of helping them work on very low-budgets.
The new Italian section (Biennale College – Cinema Italia) is for Italian director-producer teams only, with a deadline for applications of April 18th. Applications for the International Section will be open in mid-May 2017, continuing until July.
The selected candidates will be a director with one or two films to her/his credit and associated with one or more producers who have produced three audio-visual works or a feature-length drama film or a documentary which must have been distributed and / or shown at a film festival.
In all, eight micro-budget projects will be selected to participate in a development workshop (in English) in Venice in July 2017. At the end of the workshop, three projects will be selected, their titles announced during the 74th Venice Film Festival alongside the nine films selected in the International Section.
