Iranian director Ashgar Farhadi is currently preparing his next film in Spain. Starring Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, it will be co-produced by Pedro Almodovar’s production company “El Deseo”.
Farhadi is currently in Spain finishing the script. Although as yet the film has no title, we know it looks at the difficulties of a family in rural Spain with the two actors playing a couple of winemakers.
Farhadi has already made an international reputation as a film-maker: “A Separation” and “The Customer” both won Oscars for Best Foreign Film. He is also used to filming in Europe since he made “The Past” (2013) with Bérénice Béjo, Tahar Rahim and Ali Mosaffa.
Moreover, his usual producer Alexandre Mallet-Guy and his production company Memento is based in Paris.
