On September 1st Heba Hage-Felder was appointed Director of the Arab Image Foundation. Over 70 applicants had applied for the job.

Ms Hage-Felder has over 20 years experience of institution building and development. She has an MA in International Conflict and Peace Studies. Previously she has worked with different local and international organizations such as Search for Common Ground in Washington DC, Save the Children Fund in Jordan, the Arab Resource Collective in the Lebanon and UNOPS in Geneva. Ms Hage-Felder has supported humanitarian aid and development work in the Middle East, first at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Switzerland, then as Director of the Directorate of Development Cooperation in the Lebanon. Most recently she has been head of institutional development, fundraising and management of new programmes for the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture.

The board of the Arab Image Foundation commented “we are very pleased to be working with Heba on a shared vision for the Foundation and with shared ethics.” The statement then detailed the AIF’s objectives: “together we aim to develop projects which further document the foundation’s collections and make them accessible in creative ways on our online platform, and to engage diverse audiences and collaborators through on-site and online programming.”
