È stata la mano di Dio (It Was the Hand of God) is the new film by Paolo Sorrentino. Shooting is due to start soon in Naples and the film is produced for the Netflix streaming platform.
The film’s title is a phrase used by the Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona when he scored a goal in the 1986 World Cup. Although the director has not revealed the plot, he has said that “È stata la mano di Dio is an intimate and personal film – a first for me – a story about growing up which is both joyful and painful.”
