JORDAN / The 4th Mosalsalat Screenwriters Lab has finished

Organized by the Royal Film Commission, the 4th Mosalsalat Screenwriters Lab was held from May 24th to 29th in Azraq, Jordan.

Launched in 2019, the Mosalsalat Screenwriters Lab offers workshops for script-writers from the Arab world, helping them create television projects by providing a team of specialists to support and advise project leaders as they develop their scenario.

From the 45 applications received, 5 projects were selected: Al-Michelin by Abdul-Rahman Sakr (Jordan), Hourglass by Alia Zeid (Palestine), Beit Byoot by Saif Qutishat (Jordan), The Dry Kingdom by Dana Atrach and Anne Sobel (Palestine), Mankash by Mohamed Elhossieny and Khaled Mansour (Egypt).

During the 5 days the participants were accompanied by writer/director Ahmad Almoghrabi (Jordan), Ghada Abdel Aal, novelist, scriptwriter and creator of the television series Ayza Atgawez (Egypt), Kristian Van der Heyden, founder of Harald House Belgium (Belgium), Giovanni Robbiano, script-writer, director, producer, trainer and lecturer (Italy) and Nadim Tabet, director and co-founder of the Beirut Lebanese Film Festival (Lebanon).

The call for applications for the next workshop will open in November 2024.
