The Board of Directors of Rai, meeting on February 18th, agreed the appointment of new Directors to head the group’s various channels.

Andrea Fabiano, 39, takes the reins of Rai 1, becoming the main channel’s youngest director. Having been head of marketing for the Rai Group, he became Rai’s Deputy Director on January 1st 2015.

The new Director of Rai 2, Ilaria Dallatana, began her career in the 1990’s with the Mediaset group (Tele 5 in Spain, then Italia 1 and Canale 5 in Italy), before founding a production company, Magnolia, in 2001, which she left in 2014.

The journalist and writer Daria Bignardi was appointed head of Rai 3, the channel where she began her career in 1991. She later presented several programmes on Canale 5, Italia 1 and the private channel La7, before making her return to public broadcasting in 2010 with Rai 2’s «L’era glaciale».

Angelo Teodoli, Director of Rai 2 since 2012, takes the controls of the semi-generalist Rai 4. Finally, Gabriele Romagnoli, journalist, writer and columnist for La Repubblica, comes from the world of the press to manage Rai Sports a few months before the European Cup and the Rio Olympics.

All five were chosen by Rai’s General Director, Antonio Campo Dall’Orto. The Board then met to confirm the appointments.
