ITALY / Near Naples, an independent market for young directors

On July 26^th the 1st Young Film Market will be held at Vico Equense, near Naples, as part of the 16th Social World Film Festival.

This market is for European independent film and more particularly for new talent, those “who have little opportunity to present their work to leading professionals,” explains Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, a young director of 26 who is also the Director of the Social World Film Festival.

A hundred professionals have already been signed-up for the day. There will be stands and places for meetings made available, as well as two small viewing theatres for showing trailers for films just completed or an opening sequence for films in post-production.

A conference will be held in the afternoon on “Perspectives of Italian cinema: new talent” in the presence of producers, distributors and important figures in independent film. Following this presentation, the latter will exchange directly with the young directors and writers attending the Young Film Market.
