ITALY / Creation of Rai Cinema International Distribution

Rai Cinema International Distribution

Rai Cinema and Rai Com have announced the creation of Rai Cinema International Distribution, integrating the two branches of the Italian public broadcaster. The aim of this new company is to optimize the distribution of Rai’s films abroad and to improve the visibility of Italian films worldwide. According to the agreement Rai Cinema will manage the international distribution of new films while Rai Com looks after the back catalogue.

Launched at the European Film Market during the Berlinale, the new entity’s first mission will be to supervise the sales of Margherita Vicario’s Gloria!, a competitor for the Golden Bear about a group of talented music students in a girls’ boarding school in Venice at the end of the 18th century.

Five other Italian films will also be represented by the new marketing company, including Michele Riondino’s first film Palazzina Laf and Trudie Styler’s documentary Posso entrere? An Ode to Naples, screened at the 2023 Rome Film Fest.
