The 7th Mediterranean Journalists’ competition, organized by the cultural association “Terra del Mediterraneo” (Land of the Mediterranean) will be take place from September 8th to 12th in Otranto, Italy. This year the themes of the two categories are international terrorism and press freedom. In the first, there will be awards for the best articles or reports on the military actions of jihadists in international terrorism, the role of women, recruiting young men under 18, supplying weapons and the destruction of villages and works of art. The second category, following the attack against Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical weekly newspaper, will reward the best articles or reports on press freedom. Lino Patruno will chair the jury with Partrizia Camassa, Ileana Inglese and Saverio Fragassi.
Anyone wishing to take part in this competition has until May 30th 2015 to send in their work, which must have been published between January 1st 2011 and March 30th 2015. For more information go to: www.giornalistidelmediterraneo.it
