AGORA, the professional section of the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, has announced the projects selected for the Pitching Forum and for AGORA Docs in Progress.
Held in parallel with the festival, from March 8th to 16th, AGORA encourages collaboration, innovation and cultural exchange. It impacts nearly 500 industry professionals each year.
Twelve projects from 11 European and Mediterranean countries have been selected for the Pitching Forum. Works like If These Stones Could Talk by Hana Elias (Palestine), Kafka in Belgrade by Maša Nešković (Serbia), Lake by Nikos Ziogas (Greece) – whose previous film Memento was presented at PriMed in 2022 – and Women Walk Home by Stephanie Andreou (Cyprus) show the great diversity of countries involved.
Meanwhile 11 films from 16 countries have been chosen for AGORA Docs in Progress, a support structure for films nearing completion. Project leaders show extracts of their work to an audience of professionals to find potential financiers, distributors or broadcasters.
A jury will present awards to the best projects in both support schemes. All the selected projects can be seen on the event’s website.
