From November 20th to 26th PriMed will celebrate its 20th year

The 20th PriMed, the festival of the Mediterranean in images, will be held in Marseille from November 20th to 26th. Discover the full programme of this eventful week.

For this anniversary edition, PriMed invites you to discover 24 documentaries and web-documentaries from 21 different countries, all filmed around the Mediterranean. They will be shown free at the Villa Méditerranée, the Bibliothèque de l’Alcazar and at MuCEM.

Among the issues covered this year: Syria of course, but also the status of women, the transformation of Mediterranean towns, conflicts in the Middle East, politics in Europe, arts, religions, the economic crisis, the pollution of the Mediterranean and integrating migrants through sport.

First date for your diaries: Sunday, November 20th at MuCEM from 2:30pm for a special Audience Award afternoon. Those present will be able to choose the best of four short films selected this year.

The free screenings will continue from Tuesday November 22nd at the Villa Méditerranée and from Wednesday 23rd at the Alcazar. All films will be screened in their original language and / or with French subtitles. Their directors will be present and answer questions from the public (see programme).

At 2:00pm on Thursday 24th there will be a screening-discussion at the Alcazar about Daesh, Paroles de déserteurs with director Francis-Xavier Tregan and Alain Ruffion, head of the NGO Unismed.

The award ceremony will be at the Villa Méditerranée on Friday November 25th. Featuring the group Radio Babel, it will be held in the presence of PriMed’s host, actor and screenwriter Maaskri Moussa, the jury chair Antoine Sfeir, a journalist and political scientist, members of the jury and all the directors.

All winning films will be screened again on Saturday, November 26th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Alcazar and from 2:00pm to 9:00pm at the Villa Méditerranée.

Please note that this year, 2,000 students from the PACA region and the whole Mediterranean area will take part in PriMed by attending the festival’s various events and giving their award, the Prix MPM Averroes Junior, to one of the films in competition.
