The Toulouse Occitanie Palestine Film Festival returns for its 12th year from March 9th to 17th.
This year’s Festival promises to be a beacon of hope, with a poster designed by Rami Abbas which, the organisers feel, evokes Mahmoud Darwish’s phrase: “I try to raise Hope as one raises a child.”
In their press release, the festival team says it wants to let the public “discover Palestine in a new light: through cinema and art, far removed from clichés and imposed silences.”
And so they will open the festival with Cherien Dabis’ All That’s Left of You (2025), which follows a family across three generations, from the Nakba to the present day. The festival will close with a screening of Iyad Alastall’s documentary, “For the Honour of Gaza”, which offers a perspective on current events in Gaza through interviews with people living there.
A tribute will also be paid to the actor and director Mohammad Bakri, who died in December 2025. Internationally acclaimed, he worked as an actor with film-makers such as Costa-Gavras, Michel Khleifi, the Taviani brothers, Tarek Saleh, and Annemarie Jacir.
