The 44th Cinemed, Montpellier’sFestival of Mediterranean Film, will take place from October 21stto 29th.

This year there will be a lot of films and a lot of guests. Award-winning director Abdellatif Kechiche will be present with 6 of his feature films. Films such as Conversation Nord-Sud: Daney/Sanbar (1993), L’Attentat (1998) and Mur (2004) reflect her commitments to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, striving above all to show its human side.

Cinemed also has competitions for feature films, shorts and documentaries. In the documentary section 8 films are in competition. Marija Zidar’s Reconciliation takes us to Albania and the death of an 18-year-old girl during a family feud. Her heartbroken father tries to forgive the killer. Leïla Chaïbi’s Gardien des mondes follows a man who lives with the dead in a Tunis cemetery. Nikolay Stefanov’s No Place for You in Our Town is about thugs in one of Bulgaria’s toughest towns.
