The 36th Fameck Arab Film Festival will be held in north-eastern France from October 2nd to 12th.
This year the main focus is on Lebanon, with the organisers wanting to “shine a spotlight on creative Lebanese films, reflecting a changing society, combining poetry, resistance and a search for identity.”

More than 15 films – fiction, documentaries and animated – will be screened, with a retrospective and the more recent output of Lebanese creators. The Festival will “
showcase established talents such as Nadine Labaki, Ziad Doueiri and Wissam Charaf in a selection which will also look at the bold new generation of artists including Ely Dagher and Mounia Akl
,” the press release announces.
The festival will also screen around forty films from across the Arab world, divided between competitions, special screenings and events. There will be several awards, decided by juries of professionals from the world of culture. Parallel events (round tables, workshops and youth screenings) will complement the programme.
