Among these films, fifteen are being projected in pre-release, including the latest films by Mohamed Lakhdar-Hamina (“Crépuscule des ombres” Twilight of the shadows), Hassen Ferhani (“Dans ma tête un rond-point” In my head a roundabout), Leyla Bouzid (“A peine j’ouvre les yeux” I hardly open my eyes), Hicham Lasri (“The sea is behind”) and Malek Bensmail (“Contre-pouvoirs” Counter-powers).

For this, its 7th edition, the festival is also screening a retrospective of the Moroccan director Daoud Aoulad Siad (“Adieu forain”, “En attendant Pasolini”). Tributes will be paid to Algerian writer Assia Djebar (1936-2015) with the screening of her two documentaries, to the Moroccan director Ahmed Bouanani and the Tunisian film-maker Tahar Cheriaa. The former head of the Centre Cinématographique Marocain, Noureddine Saïl, has been given a free hand to present a selection of Mediterranean films.
