“The First Time” festival for first documentary films.
“To champion and show the importance of original films and personal views on the real world” – that is the goal of the First Time festival.
From February 23rd to 27th 14 first documentary films (short, medium and feature-length) will be screened in Aix en Provence, Marseille and Saint-Cannat. Each film will be followed by a discussion between the audience and the director.
This year, the guest of honour will be the director Luc Moullet. He will open the festival at the Institut de l’image, Aix en Provence at 8:30 p.m. on February 23rd. Three of his films will be shown. The next day he will take a master class at the town’s Art School.
Since its creation the First Time festival has been organized by Les Films du Gabian. “Since 2008 the association has evolved towards documentaries in a desire to meet, share and discover the world. That impulse to direct and produce films goes with a determination to share moments of amicable reflection and dialogue after the screenings.”
