Eurimages has just announced the results of its first Project Evaluation Session. 26 projects, including 5 documentaries and one animation, have been selected by the executive committee. In total €6,992,000 will be allocated for them.
Among the drama films selected, Spanish director Carla Simón’s new film Romeria received €500,000. It is about an orphan adopted by her uncle who sets off in search of her missing family. Croatian director Hana Jušić received €390,000 for her second feature God Will Not Help, a project developed during a residency at the Cinéfondation. Marko Naberšnik’s Whites Wash at Ninety (Slovenia, Italy, Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro) received €149,000.
The documentaries supported are: Ventura Durall’s Supernatural (Spain/Belgium/France, €72,000), Ketevan Vashagashvili’s 9-Month Contract (Georgia/Bulgaria, €80,000), and Nostalgia for the Future (Belgium/Netherlands/Italy, €95,000) by Brecht Debackere.
