After a 25-day shoot in Zagreb, Split and on the island of Hvar, Igor Jelinović’s first feature, Honey Bunny, is now in post-production.
Written and directed by Jelinović, the film tells the story of a woman who, having cheated her sister from inheriting the family home on the island of Hvar, decides to take care of her nephew to clear her conscience.
Interviewed by FNE, producer Rea Rajčić defined the film as “a Mediterranean family tragi-comedy, based on an authentic character study.”
With a total budget of €550,000, the film is a Croatian-Serbian co-production. It had support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Serbian Film Centre, Creative Europe’s MEDIA fund and HRT – Croatian Radio and Television.
Honey Bunny was developed at First Films First, the Goethe Institute’s workshop, and presented in 2020 at Connecting Cottbus, where it won the Avanpost Pitch Packaging Award and the MIDPOINT Consulting Award.
