An Egyptian production and distribution company, Oscar for Distribution and Theatres, has launched a new cinema chain, Beam Cinemas, with a multiplex in Cairo called Ōma offering the highest quality cinematic experience.
Ōma is a radically new type of cinema with viewers watching films from private balconies, recreating the atmosphere of traditional theatres. The French architects explain this means each spectator is physically closer and more emotionally involved in the story.
According to Box Office Pro the cinema will feature ten balconies as well as a traditional stalls area, giving an estimated capacity of 300 to 350 seats.
The CEO of the Egyptian company stated: “Our exclusive contract with Ōma Cinema allows us to combine our legacy of excellence with cutting-edge innovation, thus positioning Beam Cinemas as a leader right from the start.”
This cinema will be part of the TANZA leisure and entertainment complex, covering 250,000m2. It is scheduled to open in July 2027.
