CYPRUS / Man of War in pre-production

At the beginning of January Dimitri Logothetis announced that his next film, Man of War, would be shot on the island of Cyprus.

At the end of March the producer announced that work was continuing despite government restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak. So Man of War is in pre-production and on schedule – finalizing budgets, scouting locations, drafting contracts and organising the film crew.

Dimitri Logothetis said: “We are seeing markets outside Europe and America – affected by the virus much earlier than us – slowly recovering. We believe that with patience, we shall also get through this, even if our plans have been delayed a bit because of Covid-19. We hope that Man of War, along with the other productions we have in mind for Cyprus, will help boost the country’s economy, as we will be recruiting local staff and relying on local businesses, such as hotels and restaurants, which have been hit hard by the pandemic.” Then he added that “the coronavirus may have slowed down our initial plans, but we haven’t stopped working towards our final goal, aiming to have everything on track by the summer.”

The script for Man of War is by Gary Scott Thompson (creator of the Fast & Furious franchise). The feature will be produced by Martin J. Barab and Todd Garner, and co-produced by Chris Economides.
