Two Croatian short films, Moral Support and Windows from the South, were chosen to be shown at the recent Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Moral Support, directed by Vuk Jevremovic, had its world premiere in the Short Film competition. Inspired by the music of the Slovenian group Laibach and their song Moral Support, the film tells the story of the fight between communists (striking miners) and Yugoslav nationalists in Trbovlje in 1924.
Eugen Bilankov’s Windows from the South, shown in the Graduation Films category, is an animated documentary. The narrative develops through the film-maker’s conversations with his long-term partner as they contemplate the end of a nine-year relationship.
The Annecy Festival was held from June 9th to 15th. The entire selection is available on this link.
