Zagreb’s New European Market (NEM Zagreb) is a professional event for the television industries of Central and Eastern Europe. Many representatives of public and private television as well as video-on-demand platforms will gather to discuss issues facing broadcasting and trends in creativity.
Scheduled over 3 days, from December 7th to 9th, there will be several discussions. Among them a case study presented by Guy Bisson (executive director and co-founder of Ampere Analysis) on the impact of streaming platforms on non-English-speaking productions. Seminars on subjects like Spanish television drama or the concept of “true history” in drama are part of the programming.
As well as these discussions, the Content Showcase gives production companies the chance to present their projects. Each company has 10 minutes to explain their films in development. There will also be various activities based around television writing: three days of workshops giving participants the chance to reflect on different notions of creativity, writing original scenarios and designing a pilot. At the same time a television writing competition puts forward and rewards new projects.
