In collaboration with the Sarajevo Film Festival, which ran from August 14th to 21st, Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska has launched a project called “Sister Sister”.
Her aim is to draft a collective manifesto on the role of women in the audiovisual industry in all the countries of former Yugoslavia. According to its originator the manifesto needs to address “all our concerns and ideals” and she described it as “bold, punk and revolutionary.”
The programme included three round-table discussions where participants shared their experiences, identified key challenges and formulated concrete recommendations for creating a “more inclusive” audiovisual industry. This means institutions giving equal funding to projects led by female or male directors.
Céline Sciamma, a French film-maker, was guest of honour.
