During the 74th Berlin International Film Festival (February 15th – 25th), the Arab Cinema Centre (ACC) organized two meetings as part of the European Film Market.

Under the title “Arab Box Office Bonanza ”, the first round-table focused on box office revenues in the MENA region which have now reached the unprecedented figure of one billion dollars. Three topics were discussed and analysed: the success of local language films, the position of the MENA region in relation to cinema revenues in other territories and the future of cinemas in the Arab world after the pandemic. The 2nd round-table focused on the film industry in Saudi Arabia.

The co-founders of the Arab Cinema Centre, Alaa Karkouti and Maher Diab expressed their enthusiasm. “We are delighted to share these achievements with the international film community in the hope that this fosters greater global collaboration with the world’s fastest-growing entertainment industry.”

Created 10 years ago by MAD Solutions and based in Germany, this non-profit organization provides seminars and conferences for representatives of companies and institutions involved in co-production, international sales and distribution, festivals, trade exhibitions and industry events.
