The Timimoun International Short Film Festival is preparing its first edition by launching a call for films. The Festival will be held from November 13th to 18th in the heart of the Algerian Sahara.
“Entirely dedicated to the art of the short film, the festival celebrates this very special format: free, dense, experimental, capable of saying a lot in a short time,” states the press release. This first festival will highlight productions from across the African continent.
The festival is reserved for African films produced in 2024 or 2025, ranging in length from 10 to 40 minutes. Fiction, documentaries and animated films are eligible. Those selected will enter a competition where several awards will be given to the best short films.
Submissions are open until August 20th.
