
On June 29th the Minister of Culture and Arts, Zouhir Ballalou, presided over the opening of Hiya, a programme for women film-makers who have a 13-minute short film project.
During his speech, the minister said this programme is “a pioneering initiative bringing together an elite group of emerging and talented female scriptwriters and directors, enabling them produce short films which convey powerful messages and reflect important human experiences.”
Director Yasmine Chouikh, who oversees the Hiya programme, explained that the five selected participants will meet “directors, producers and actors who will help enrich their artistic vision.”
