In a press release issued on March 1st, the Eurovision network announced it had opened a business hub in Dubai “to support the growth of its activities in the region”.
The office is located in the heart of Dubai Media City, a Free Zone housing more than a thousand media companies, including the regional offices of the largest international media (CNN, BBC, MBC, Reuters).
This is a logical step in our strategic development and we are delighted to strengthen our services to our valued customers in the region,” said Stefan Kuerten, Director of Eurovision’s Services and Sports Rights, adding that the office will be “a bridge between Europe and Asia, and a gateway to Africa.”
Jorge Simao, who until now worked on Eurovision’s Latin American operations, has been appointed to take over Eurovision Middle East.
Eurovision, founded 52 years ago in Switzerland, is a network for exchanging programmes between members of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), specializing particularly in news and sports.
