Representatives from Turkey and Azerbaijan met in Ankara to agree on a series of agreements and strengthen their bilateral cultural cooperation.
Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Anar Karimov and Turkey’s Minister of International Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu praised the unity of their countries. Their cultural alliance will ensure “the promotion of the translation and publication of modern and classical works, mutual participation in festivals of theater, cinema, music and other fields, as well as festivals and joint exhibitions ”, the Turkish News Agency says.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy also insisted on the bilateral cooperation of the cinematographic sectors. Turkey is indeed the second largest exporter of TV series.
One of the first projects proposed is the production of a film on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Azerbaijani Minister of Culture announced.
The two countries are working to renew the cultural and economic Silk Road. On February 24th, Azerbaijan already announced the investment of nearly 17 billion euros in Turkey as a “sign of brotherhood and confidence in the Turkish economy,” said a member of the Azerbaijani government.
