On July 13th the beIN Media Group, a subsidiary of Al Jazeera, bought the pay-TV platform Digiturk, until now 53% owned by Cukurova Holding and 47% by Providence Equity Partners. The transaction, for an undisclosed amount, will only be effective after obtaining permits from the local competition authorities.
