Now in its 5th year, the Antalya Film Forum has become an integral part of the Antalya International Film Festival, which ran from September 29th to October 5th. The four-day Forum attracted some 200 film and television professionals from all over the world to discuss production matters with Turkish colleagues during several masterclasses and individual meetings.
Zynep Atakan, festival director and producer of the Turkish film Winter Sleep, wanted to extend the scope of the event and broaden the range of parallel events. Thus 12 up-and-coming directors took part in a 10-day animation workshop run by Hungarian director and scriptwriter Béla Tarr.
The Antalya Film Forum closed with awards totalling 533,000 Turkish Lira (€75,000) for funding projects in several categories: drama, documentary, a work in progress, a project looking for producers, a short film in progress and the Sümer Tilmac Antalya Film Support Fund.
