The second Balkan Film Market took place in Tirana from October 3rd to 7th. This regional film-industry event, created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Albanian National Centre of Cinematography (ANCC), is considered a true platform where cinema professionals from the Balkans and Europe can come together to develop film projects and find funding.
On the menu this year: conferences, round tables and workshops, including, to name only the most eagerly-awaited events, “Pitch Balkan”, a pitching session for producers and directors; sessions throughout the event for the teams working on the Albascript Plus projects to collaborate with their mentors; the General Assembly of the SEE Cinema Network.
The Balkan Film Market closed with a screening of Maria Lafi’s Holy Boom, a Greek-Albanian co-production partially funded by the ANCC through its minority co-production scheme.
