TUNISIA / The Tunisian director of “Lily” wins the $1million dollar Dubai AI Film Award

Tunisian director Zoubeir Jlassi won the $1million AI Film Award for his short film, Lily.

The competition took place in Dubai during the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event for content creation. Organised by the UAE Government Media Office from January 9th to 11th, the event brought together more than 15,000 professionals, influencers, and videographers.

Sponsored in partnership with Google Gemini, the AI ​​Film Award encourages the production of films which make extensive use of AI tools, particularly those from the American co-sponsor. In total, more than 3,500 films from 116 countries were submitted. All were reviewed by a jury of 40 industry professionals.

From among the 100 shortlisted films, Zoubeir Jlassi’s Lily won the award. His film is about a lonely archivist whose life is turned upside down by a doll stuck in the bumper of his car following an accident he caused.
