Two Mediterranean productions, Sirāt and The Voice of Hind Rajab, have been nominated for the 2026 Academy Awards, which will be held on March 15th in Los Angeles.
Directed by Olivier Laxe, Sirāt is nominated for Best Sound and Best International Feature Film (Spain). Set in the heart of the mountains of southern Morocco, the film is about a father searching for his missing daughter, accompanied by his son. Presented at the last Cannes Film Festival, the film won the Jury Award.
The docu-drama The Voice of Hind Rajab by Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania is also nominated for Best International Feature Film (Tunisia). A multi-award winner, the film received the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Award at the Venice Film Festival.
